Construction Industry – November 16th

The construction jobs in Georgia was back to last year’s level in September, around 2 percent increase from August. The increase in Atlanta construction job market made up nearly 60% of state’s rise.
The building permits in Georgia had a sharp rise in September, more than 23% higher than September 2019. Building permits in Atlanta-Sandy Springs-Alpharetta also saw a significant increase of 484 units compared to August.

Unemployment 11/2-11/6

Total preliminary initial unemployment claims were down -38% from the previous week, or down 14,127 claims since last week. Continuing claims dropped by 5%. Among the most improved industries were Retail Trade and Accommodation & Food Services.
