To help small business during the coronavirus pandemic, the CARES Act created the Paycheck Protection Program. This was established in addition to the Small Business Administration's EIDL program, which provides loans to small businesses affected by declared disasters. Small businesses are those with less than 500 employees and make up about 99.6% of all Georgia businesses.
